Graham Hughes, the world’s most travelled filmmaker, delivers his professional tips on how to travel the globe on a shoestring finances. htttp://www.theodysseyexpedition.com When asked how can I afford to journey so much, I really feel like retorting with: how can you afford your lease? To preserve a dog? To have children? To smoke? I have no lease to pay, no dog to feed, no little ones to appear following or cigarette organizations to assist, so one hundred% of the income I have can go on travel. Trying to keep to a finances of a day is pretty easy if you happen to be CouchSurfing (cost-free), eating street foodstuff ( a meal) and travelling on the chicken bus ( for each one hundred miles). That is just 00 a yr — less than a typical British cigarette smoker will devote on fags about the identical interval and a lot, a lot less than the rent on a squalid little flat in London or the price of bringing up kids. “The toughest part of travel is selecting to go.” Travel isn’t a issue of getting loaded, it really is a query of priorities. Clearly if you want comfort and ease and stability, remain at property, operate tough and maybe go on a cruise when you might be 67 years outdated. If you happen to be lucky sufficient to dwell that extended. But if you want to see the world, rush headlong into the thrill and vigour of the unfamiliar, wake up each day in a new area with new issues and new buddies, then the globe is your dancefloor — all you have to do is make the determination to GET OUT THERE and strut your funky things. To stick to my Guinness World Document Breaking endeavor to pay a visit to Every single Nation in the planet …

@1337Creations I never said he had to do anything, I just wished there was a video like this in American terms/values. I didn’t complain or tell anyone to do anything! You’re just being rather rude, probably due to misunderstanding where I was coming from.
@SemiLesbo 600 quid is 750 dollars roughly. And why should he. He’s british/Irish. Why should he be forced to use american terms.
You should brush up on your understandings of the rest of the world.
So you’ve told us how to save money. But how do you make money. I want to try it as a chef since that’s what i’ve been doing the past years. Work from country to country.
Why do you have lonely on the tag? If you wanna you could always manifest a friend or a lovely romantic travel partner if it’s what you want.
Awesome video !
Check out LIFTSURFER . COM great website for traveling!
I wish these with American dollar values instead of “quid”. I have no idea how much “600 quid” is, money-wise. @.@ Other than that, very informative!
@geoffbo312 -actually you wont have skype, the compass or gps (depending on the band). Im in china atm and unlocking can be a bit of a pain. but i do agree my iphone is a life saver, ive got about 3 translators on it and a pleco which reads chinese lol.
All of the inexpensive countries are usually the countries you’re most likely going to get robbed, raped, kidnapped, or murdered in. Not too mention how much more easier it is to contract some illness and how slower you’ll probably have it treated. Besides, there’s just too many obstacles: passports, visas, avoiding scams, avoiding the bad parts of town, avoiding bad food and bad water, avoiding venomous insects and reptiles, etc. Seems like so much hassle, no? Gah!
I want to just bite the bullet and try this so much. For some reason.. I’m not.
By god i can not like this enough! I’ve been in the mood for a while to do something spontaneous! I think im gonna have to buy a map
Cheers
@geoffbo312 While planning our world trip I thought we wouldn’t need a netbook either but then my bf pointed out how are we to upload pics? Can’t do with an iPhone and don’t want to lose pics. On top of that just easier to type on, especially if keeping in touch w/friends and family.
@edward101277 Apparently, Nationwide is the best account to get. Failing that, a HSBC Premier account doesn’t charge to take money out of foreign cash machines (aside from the charges of the foreign bank), but it costs 12 quid a month so you might not want to go for that option.
I have no goals in life, so I think going around the world could be an eye opener, thank you for giving me hope!
i wanna go to japan >_>
I’m from the UK and I’m about to go round the world… which bank charges the least commision with debit cards??
